What Is LandLo?
LandLo Is a digital platform built for empowering renters giving them the opportunity to rate apartments and landlord. I like to describe it as Glassdoor for apartments and landlords
But Why?
In 2025 I was finishing up my masters I had an apartment in Brooklyn the Landlord at the apartment at the time did not give me and roommate our deposit back until 45 days after moving out, for those who do not know by law in New York a Landlord needs to return the deposit 7 days after the tenants move out. Our Landlord did not give us back the deposit until we threatened to sue. It was extremely unsetting and was a bitter feeling on an amazing experience. I vowed from that day I wished there was a platform that you can review landlord and LandLo was born, everyone I know has a crazy landlord story so I wanted to make something to give renters their power back
How Does It Work
A user makes an account with their email, they enter the property name and write a review, rent, time stayed, deposit returned etc will be mandatory for the user to enter the user gets the opportunity to talk more about the apartment or landlord. Our main priority is to keep the users anonymous making LandLo a safe space for all users to feel free about telling their truths.
The most important part I’d like to mention is that this is not a hate platform for landlords or apartments but it is a space for honest reviews for tenants wanting to get a space. It is all about transparency.

Information Architecture
Next step was coding I bought the domain LandLo.co and am building it out currently I am on V1, improving the usability. I’ve noticed that there needs to be a central place to see the top reviews, funny, silly, serious.
The goal with the social is make it fun, cool, hip and to get people talking

StreetEasy is the best known NY platform for finding rental apartments
OverheardNY
Kind of a curve ball on this list. Overheard NY is well known for sharing what New Yorkers over hear on the street and post it. I love the fun and quirky nature of this instagram page I want to bring that same idea to the website and socials.

There were multiple versions made but this one felt like it made the most sense and was the closest to being right.
The goal of the platform is to be simple, familiar and for users to be able to find what they are looking for.
Making the paper wireframe to digital. The set up was good and simple but unfortunately the platform felt exactly like street easy, and ai start-y.
